January – Where did it go?: Print E-mail

January has almost blown by with hardly an opportunity to provide a range report, update our monthly specials, show some recent builds, or just BS about some male individual who has recently displayed some degree of femininity, idiocy, or has somehow come to my attention and is deserving of some friendly encouragement to man-up.

As we discussed before, my real job is an electrical control’s engineer, which requires some travel from time to time and extra hours during the week and weekend.  (We’re not whining or complaining.)  January just happened to be a very busy month which has required a couple of trips back to back, several late days, and weekend work, hence is why we haven’t had much updates this month.  So if you’ve tried to contact us and we’ve not responded or it’s been a delayed response we apologize.

However, even though we were busy with circuits, over the last 6 weeks we’ve completed several AR-10 and AR-15 smokin awesome rifles.   After the weather finally broke we also made it out last weekend for a suppressor and optics test, which we were impressed with both.  We’ve also been working on a personal pet project for our new home/car defense gun.

A couple of recent builds we’re done on DPMS receivers and in both instances the two gentlemen had been monitoring our site and new exactly what they wanted.  One gentleman went as far as smoking a cigar prior to coming over just to make sure he met the minimum manly standards.  (Actually, he out manned me that night, I almost felt a little inferior, but reached down and checked my….. suppressed HK USP Tactical 45 and new we were on even footing again.)

These two individuals choose the 308Win 24” Krieger SST barrels from WOA, but both very different rifle configurations.  The first one went to a high planes cowboy over in south west Colorado near the New Mexico border.   This rifle will be like a sweet mare when he saddles up to it and he’s also got plans for a custom regional paint job.

Upper receiver:  DPMS A3 w/ 24” Krieger SST match, DPMS vented forearm, phantom FH, and he selected a Leupold 4x14 LRT (very nice).  The lower is a DPMS w/JP Adjustable trigger w/speed hammer, Magpul PRS stock, Ergo grip.  We also manufactured 100rds of 175grn SMK HPBT custom ammo for this rig.  Priced as shown $3500

For Cigar Man we built another DPMS LR-308 variant that is streamlined, low recoil, long ranger.  When it’s finished he will have the IOR Valdada 4x14 illuminated.  There are two items we really like on this rifle, which are the JP Vtac forearm and the color variations on the stock and grip.  The JPVtac has the same diameter as a standard AR-15 forearm and makes it very comfortable to grip, modular picatinny rails, and sleek vented design.  You’ll see more of this from us.

Upper receiver:  DPMS A3 w/24” Krieger SST match, JP Vtac forearm, low pro gas, Miculek compensator, and he selected one of our favorites a IOR Valdada 4x14 illuminated w/MP-8 reticule.  The lower is a DPMS w/JP Adjustable w/speed hammer, Magpul PRS OD, Ergo OD deluxe grip.  Priced as shown $2350.  (Scope not shown)

Another two rifles we built for a long time friends and clients of ours, Army Man Mike (AAM) and Earl from Reno (ER) (congratulations on his recent marriage, gun buying is probably over for awhile now) were more manly then expected.  We’ve been moving away from the full bull barrel contour because of overall weight, but that’s exactly what these two wanted.

The rifle shown below was for AAM and was built on DPMS platform:  DPMS A3 upper w/20” Kriger SST match/bull/fluted/threaded, low pro gas, Troy Industries rifle length 4 rail (if you’re going with a 4 rail we can highly recommend the TI for cost, quality, and light weight), and Miculek compensator.  The lower is a DPMS w/JP adjustable w/speed hammer, Magpul PRS, Ergo Deluxe w/palm shelf.  We also manufactured 500rds of 168grn SMK HPBT match ammo.  (If you are a Muslim terrorist and decide to invade OP, KS our recommendation is to maintain a minimum of 700yds distance from AAM, lest you meet your virgins prematurely.)  AAM topped this hammer off with a Bushnell 4200 Elite 6x24 mil-dot.

For ER we only built the upper since he already had a lower from a previous build we did for him.  ER went with:  DPMS A3 upper w/20” Kriger SST match/bull/fluted/threaded, JP adjustable gas block (ER is developing a sub sonic load for this rifle), JP Vtac forearm.  Again, this gun will be parked on a bench or prone position while ER silently delivers slow moving large caliber bullets to unsuspecting vermin.  (Rifle shown with AAM’s lower and our NF 3.5x22) Note to extremists:  You will not require the services of a real ER doctor.

Another rifle that we’ve been secretly developing for ourselves for home, personal, vehicular, and defense against societal breakdown is a custom SBR.  We are still in the process of testing this and found one bust that we will have to change which is the suppressor.  The AA piston can not be removed without first removing the AAC flash hider.  For this rifle we will probably switch to the SWR Wolverine or A2-R2 suppressor.  Regardless, in the short term this just means we have a little more maintenance time.

The lower is a registered SBR from LWRC that we customized with a Giessele SSA 2 stage trigger, Magpul single point sling and ambi sling plate.  The upper is built using a YHM A3 upper w/M4 feed ramps, Adams Arms piston conversion, Samson Star-C piston ready 4 rail, AAC M4-1000 suppressor, YHM QDS sights, Pentagon laser light combo w/micro switch on the broom handle, and a Trijicon relex sight.

We’ve also built a couple of AR-15 varmint assassin rifles.  These are all built with White Oak Armament match grade AR-15 barrels.  These are tack driving machines.

The bottom rifle has the following:  YHM A3 upper w/WOA 18” bull/1:7/fluted, JP Vtack, Young NM chrome BCG, RRA lower w/Armalite 2 stage, Ergo grip, Magpul CTR stock.  Middle rifle has the following:  YHM A3 upper w/WOA 18” SPR/1:7/threaded, YHM smooth forearm, phantom FH, YHM lower w/RRA 2 stage NM, Magpul MOE, Ergo grip.  Top rifle has the following:  YHM A3 upper w/WOA 20” bull/1:7, JP Vtac, YHM lower w/Magpul FDE, Ergo FDE.

Another AR-15 we built and is currently listed for sale is another varmint vaporizer.

Rifle has:  YHM A3 upper w/WOA 20” Bull/fluted/threaded/1:7, Levang compensator, JP adjustable gas block, YHM smooth forearm w/rails, Young NM chrome BCG, YHM lower, RRA 2 stage NM trigger, Magpul PRS (FDE), Ergo FDE grip.  This just needs a commensurate optic and vermin will cease to emit green house gases.  (Price as shown $1617)  This rifle has varmint destroyer written all over it..

Another one we built for another long time friend and client Brad, supplied an Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel barrel and had us provide everything else.

The rifle has the following:  YHM A3 upper w/AA 18” 6.5 Grendel barrel, (FH is still on order), Samson Mfr 4 rail picatinny gas block, YHM lower, Timney Mfr AR-15 match trigger, Magpul PRS FDE, Ergo FDE grip,

We also built one of our UDW-308 rifles designed for the ultimate bad-ass rifle for urban combat, (or if you’re describing it to your wife it’s a deer or hog rifle) and is a real ball buster when defending your home against your typical urban gang banger, Hamas or Hezbolla terrorist, crack dealer or other nefarious individual.

This rifle has the following:  DPMS A3 upper w/16” Wilson stainless steel match/1:10/cerakote black, YHM Phantom FH, Daniel Defense mid length 4 rail, YHM spectre gas block, DPMS lower w/Armalite 2 stage tactical trigger, Magpul MOE, Ergo grip, and topped with a Trijicon 4x fiber/tritium & doctor optic.  This is a solid 0 – 500yd shooter, do not enter the field of view if you are any of the aforementioned individuals.
